Many of us trans guys never had the opportunity to experience a boyhood summer camp. It’s our aim that you find that missing piece at Camp Lost Boys. We provide a retreat away from the stress and the struggles of your day-to-day life. We aim to focus on self-empowerment and self-esteem building through the physical and mental activities of a traditional summer camp experience. Come climb ropes, swim, try archery, hike, go mountain biking, make arts and crafts, enjoy facilitated fireside chats, friendship and so much more! We hope you let down your guard, and get in touch with yourself, nature and build your community and network.

Our camp is for any guy who self-identifies as a man of trans experience and is over the age of 18. This camp is largely focused on physical activities and is a dedicated place where we can celebrate our male identities in a safe, fun, and rugged outdoor setting. If this appeals to you, please join us!

Camp is nestled in the beautiful mountains near Big Bear, CA. Surrounded by towering trees, alongside the melodic sounds of the Santa Ana River, in a breathtaking historical landmark. This is the site of CLB #1 and we are pleased to be returning to this location for #3. This location is remote and set in the Southern California Mountains. For those of you coming from out of town, it is best to fly into LAX, ONT or BUR. From LAX it is about a 2.5 hour drive, From ONT or BUR it is about a 1.5-2 hour drive.

We will be offering a message board for ride-sharing.

Slumber party vibes all around! You’ll be sharing your cabin with somewhere between 10 and 20 others. Please keep in mind this facility is a traditional summer camp and the accommodations are rugged and rustic, with bunk beds. Cabin groups are assigned with your comfort and happiness in mind. If you are in need of an accessible bathroom in your quarters, there are a few cabins that have bathrooms inside them. Please be sure to indicate that need/preference in registration.

If you wish to tent camp on the grounds, there is space to do so. Please be sure to indicate this desire when registering.

The camp does not provide linens, so we suggest you bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. However if you need linens the camp will be able to supply, bedding, towels and pillow for an additional cost, be sure to select at checkout.

What does the cost include?

  • Lodging for 3 nights and 4 days.

  • Three meals a day plus snacks and beverages (9 meals total plus snacks) - we work with the camp chef to design vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus and options catered specifically for our group and to all accommodate food allergies. Plus unlimited nachos, fountain drinks and snacks.

  • Access to all activities offered.

How much does it cost?

All inclusive full tuition for camp is $450 (plus registration fee $3.95).  It is important to us as organizers of a community event that we keep cost as low as possible. If cost is prohibitive, we encourage you to apply for our scholarship fund when it opens in December, but keep in mind space is limited. Please also keep in mind that scholarship does not include transportation to and from the camp, you will need to get there on your own.
